IKEA Billy shelf pin replacement for 5 mm holes

A replacement shelf support for the IKEA Billy bookcase, Hemnes and Ivar, which use 5 mm holes and lose pins every time you move house. The pin has a 4.9 mm shank 10 mm long with a 0.5 mm chamfer, a 6 mm collar that stops it pushing through the side panel, and an 18 mm long L-shaped shelf rest 3 mm thick with a 2 mm lip that stops the shelf sliding forward. Printed in PETG the pin takes around 12 kg per shelf. Print the pins lying on the flat of the L in sets of eight so a single job covers two shelves.

Hole sizes and panel thicknesses differ between IKEA lines and older furniture, so a pin generated to the measured hole fits firmly rather than wobbling. In SpeakCAD you give the hole diameter and shelf thickness, preview the pin in the browser at no cost, ask for a version with a rubber-padded rest in the chat and download the STL.

Change any number to match what you measured. The AI keeps the rest of the design consistent, and small follow-up edits after a download are free.
