The service

SpeakCAD generates 3D models from text descriptions and reference files. Credits are what the service runs on: each request to the AI uses credits (3 for a new part or a design change, whichever model answers it, 2 for a small change or a fix of the last answer, or 1 for a quick edit such as a changed number, returned if the AI fails to answer). Downloading a model file (an STL, a 3MF or G-code) is included in every plan; without a plan, downloading a model with AI work in it uses 4 credits. Credits come with a monthly plan: Maker at $7.99 for 50 credits, Pro at $14.99 for 200 credits, or Unlimited at $79.99 for 300 AI requests a month and unlimited downloads. Credits can also be bought once, without a plan: 20 for $4.99, 50 for $9.99, 100 for $17.99 or 200 for $34.99. They never expire and add to a plan's credits; a credit costs less the bigger the top-up, and more than on any plan. G-code sliced for your printer costs the same as the STL or 3MF of the same model; the slicing itself uses no extra credits. Turning a model around in the viewer and changing its numbers there are free.

Plans and credits

Maker includes 50 credits a month (a Maker subscription started before 14 October 2026 keeps the 80 credits a month it was sold with while it runs, one started before 18 October 2026 the 60, and a Pro subscription started before 18 October 2026 keeps its 250), Pro 200 credits a month and Unlimited includes 300 AI requests a month and unlimited downloads: past those requests in a billing period, a request spends credits from its 500 monthly credits like on any plan, and downloads stay included. On every plan, models stay private unless you publish them to the marketplace, and Pro includes entry in the giveaway while it runs. A plan can be cancelled at any time. Moving to a bigger plan starts it the day you pay for it and ends your current plan that day: the credits you have stay on your balance, and the remaining days of the plan it replaces are not refunded. Unused credits do not expire and are not transferable. Downloads are included in every plan. Without a plan, re-downloading a model is free after small changes, under the rule described on the pricing page; a substantially new design uses credits again. We may adjust thresholds to keep the rule fair and will document changes.

Free trial

Some new accounts are offered a free trial of Maker or Pro instead of welcome credits. Adding a card through Stripe starts it: nothing is charged that day and 3 free credits are added to your balance, once per account. The plan you chose starts, and its first month is charged to that card, at the earliest of: the moment you choose to continue once your free credits are used up (the editor asks you first and shows the price), or 7 days after the trial began. We e-mail you a reminder before that date. Cancelling before the plan starts ends the trial with nothing charged; the free credits left on your balance stay usable. From the first charge on, the plan renews monthly like any other plan and follows the refund policy. Trial credits are promotional credits: they have no cash value and are not refundable.

Invitation credits

Every account has an invitation link. An account created from it is linked to yours; the invited person receives 25 extra credits when they start their first plan, and you receive credits when their first payment goes through, by your plan at that moment (30 credits on Free, 30 on Maker, 100 on Pro, 200 on Unlimited). One reward per invited person, at most 20 rewarded invitations per 30 days. Inviting yourself, or creating accounts only to collect the reward, is not allowed; we may withhold or withdraw credits granted that way. Invitation credits are promotional credits: they have no cash value and are not refundable.

Publish bonus

On an account that has paid for a plan or for credits, submitting a model you have downloaded to the marketplace adds 10 credits to your balance at once, one time per listing; an account that has never paid receives no publish bonus. They are an advance on the listing's approval: if the listing is rejected, withdrawn or deleted before it was ever approved, they are taken back, up to the balance you have at that moment. While one listing holding this advance waits for review, another listing, or a model you have not downloaded, receives the 10 credits when it is approved. Publish bonus credits are promotional credits: they have no cash value and are not refundable.

Affiliate program

An account may join the affiliate program from its affiliate page. An affiliate earns 20% of each subscription payment (net of VAT or sales tax where itemised) made by an account created from its link, for as long as that account keeps paying, in place of the invitation credits above; one-time purchases and marketplace sales earn nothing. Commissions clear 30 days after the payment, are reversed by a refund, chargeback or dispute, and are paid by PayPal or Wise in the first days of each month once the cleared balance reaches $20. We issue the invoice of every payout in the affiliate's name and on their behalf (self-billing, article 289 I-2 of the French tax code) under the self-billing agreement they accept on their affiliate page with their billing details, which a payout needs; a private individual receives commission statements instead. Each document can be contested from the affiliate page within 15 days. The affiliate is responsible for the taxes on what they receive and for disclosing the commission where the law requires it. Self-referrals, paid search ads on our name, coupon or cashback sites, unsolicited bulk messages and misleading claims end the participation and void unpaid commissions. The full rules are on the affiliate page; we may change them with 30 days' notice by e-mail without affecting commissions already earned.

Printed parts

"Don't have a printer? Print it" orders a printed copy of a part from the editor, the library or the marketplace. The price shown before payment covers the print and tracked delivery to the country you chose, taxes included; you enter the address on the payment page. We have the part made by an independent print service, in the material and colour you chose with the settings shown on the order, and shipped to that address. Delivery times are estimates. The part is made to your specification, so the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply (article L221-28 of the French consumer code). The design is yours: its dimensions, fit, strength and safety are not checked before printing. When a marketplace model is printed, its maker receives its price in credits.

Your content and ownership

You own the models you generate and the files you upload. You grant us the licence needed to store, process and display them to you and to operate the service. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to design weapons, weapon parts or accessories regulated by law, or anything intended to cause harm. Do not attempt to abuse the credit system, scrape the service, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows.

No warranty on fitness

Generated models follow your description and general 3D-printing design rules, but you are responsible for verifying dimensions, tolerances, strength and safety before printing and using a part. Sliced G-code is produced by OrcaSlicer from the published profile of the printer you select and the settings you choose; printer profiles are maintained by the OrcaSlicer community and printer makers, not by us. Check that the printer, nozzle and material you selected match your machine, watch the first layer, and follow your printer's safety instructions. You remain responsible for the safe operation of your printer. The service is provided "as is".

Open-source software

The geometry kernel is OpenSCAD (GPL-2.0-or-later), which runs in your browser as WebAssembly. Sliced downloads are produced by OrcaSlicer (AGPL-3.0), which runs unmodified as a separate service. Both are used under their licences and are not part of SpeakCAD's own code. Their source code is available at github.com/openscad/openscad and github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer (version 2.4.2, including the printer profiles). Printer and filament names belong to their manufacturers and imply no affiliation or endorsement.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. Refunds follow the refund policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which SpeakCAD is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.
