Wall thickness for 3D printing: how thin can you go?
Walls are where print time, strength and looks meet. Too thin and the part is fragile or the slicer skips it; too thick and you wait an hour longer for no benefit.The nozzle sets the grid
With a 0.4 mm nozzle the slicer lays lines around 0.42 to 0.45 mm wide. Walls print best when their thickness is a whole number of lines: 0.85, 1.25, 1.7, 2.1 mm. A 1.0 mm wall forces the slicer to squeeze or gap-fill, which weakens it. SpeakCAD rounds to line multiples when you give an approximate thickness.

Floors and lids
Floors need at least 1 mm (4 to 5 layers at 0.2 mm) to be watertight and rigid. Lids that snap benefit from 1.6 mm so the clips have something to pull against.
Resin printing
Resin walls can be thinner (0.6 to 1 mm) but large flat thin areas warp during curing. Add ribs rather than thickness.
Strength is not only thickness
Doubling wall thickness roughly doubles strength; adding a 3 mm fillet at an inside corner can matter more because it removes the stress riser where cracks begin. Ribs and gussets add stiffness cheaply. SpeakCAD adds fillets to brackets by default; ask for "heavy duty" to get ribs.
