The Zero 2 W and the original Zero W share this footprint; the Zero 2 W runs hotter and benefits from a few vent holes over the SoC.

The slim case

With no header, the whole case can be 14 mm tall outside. Use 2.5 mm locating pegs instead of screws (the holes are 2.75 mm) and the board drops in and stays put under the lid.

Where a Zero ends up

Behind a TV, inside a retro handheld, in a birdhouse, on a 3D printer as an OctoPrint host. Each wants a different mount: a strap slot, a lanyard hole, two keyholes, a 1/4-20 tripod thread. Name the mount and it becomes part of the case.

Yes, the outline, holes and ports are identical. The Zero 2 W runs warmer, so add a few vent holes over the processor.

Yes. Ask for a camera module recess on the lid or front face with the module's 21 x 12.5 mm hole pattern and a ribbon slot. The Camera Module 3 is 25 x 24 mm.

Pegs for a slim case that is opened rarely: 2.5 mm pegs in the 2.75 mm holes locate the board and the lid keeps it down. Screws (M2.5 into 4 mm standoffs) when the case is mounted upside down or gets shaken.
