Safety cover for an open-frame 12 V power supply

A vented cover that fits over an open-frame 12 V 5 A switching power supply so the mains terminals are no longer exposed on a bench or inside a project. It is a five-sided box that screws into the supply's existing mounting holes, with 2 mm walls, 1 mm clearance to the chassis, a removable flap over the screw terminals and generous slot vents on top and sides. A strain relief notch guides the mains lead and stops it pulling on the terminals.

Open-frame supplies have odd hole spacings and terminal positions that a generic cover will not respect, whereas SpeakCAD builds the cover around the measurements you give. Preview in the browser for free, and ask for a rocker switch cut-out, a fuse holder hole or a fan opening next.
