AA to D cell battery adapter
A hollow shell the size of a D cell that carries a single AA battery, letting you run a lantern, radio or toy on the smaller cells you already have. A D cell is 34.2 mm in diameter and 61.5 mm long; the shell uses those dimensions with a 14.8 mm bore for the AA, a bottom well that positions the negative end flush with the base, and an opening at the top so the AA's positive nub protrudes. A 3 mm side slit makes it easy to pop the AA out.
SpeakCAD builds the adapter to your exact cell type, including AAA to AA, 18650 to D or C-size shells, and gets the nub protrusion right so contact is reliable. Preview free in the browser and ask for a two-cell version or a thinner wall to save filament.
