Wide mouth Mason jar sprouting lid with mesh 86 mm

A sprouting lid for wide mouth Ball, Kerr or Bernardin Mason jars with the 86 mm thread, letting you rinse and drain alfalfa, lentil or broccoli sprouts twice a day without a strainer. The lid has a printed mesh of 1.2 mm holes on a 2.5 mm pitch across a 70 mm disc, thick enough at 2 mm to stay flat, plus three 6 mm drainage ribs on the outside so the inverted jar can stand at an angle in a bowl. The internal thread has a 0.3 mm clearance. Print it flat, mesh up, in PETG or a food-safe filament and wash it by hand.

Seed size dictates hole size, and a downloaded lid tuned for mung beans will let chia through. In SpeakCAD you name the seed and jar mouth, preview the lid in the browser for nothing, ask for smaller holes or a second lid with a fine mesh in the chat and download the STL.

Design a sprouting lid for an 86 mm wide mouth Mason jar with a matching internal thread and 0.3 mm clearance, a 70 mm mesh of 1.2 mm holes on a 2.5 mm pitch in a 2 mm disc, 2 mm side walls 15 mm tall and three 6 mm external propping ribs.

Change any number to match what you measured. The AI keeps the rest of the design consistent, and small follow-up edits after a download are free.
