Digital caliper depth base attachment

Most digital calipers have a thin depth rod that rocks on the edge of a hole, giving inconsistent readings. This clip-on base slides over the end of the caliper beam and provides a 60 mm wide flat reference surface so depth measurements are stable. It is 60 x 16 x 12 mm with a pocket matching the beam cross section, typically 16 x 3.5 mm with 0.15 mm clearance, and a small rib that snaps into the beam edge. Print it flat in PETG with the reference face on the bed.

Beam dimensions differ between caliper brands, so a random download often fits loosely or not at all. Measure your beam, give SpeakCAD the numbers, and receive a base made for that tool. Try the free preview in your browser before spending anything.

Create a caliper depth base 60 x 16 x 12 mm that slides onto a beam 16 mm wide and 3.5 mm thick with 0.15 mm clearance, includes a 0.3 mm retaining rib, a 2 mm clearance channel for the depth rod, and a flat underside.

Change any number to match what you measured. The AI keeps the rest of the design consistent, and small follow-up edits after a download are free.
