Bladed spoke holder tool for wheel truing
Aero spokes such as Sapim CX-Ray (2.2 x 0.9 mm) and DT Aerolite twist when you turn the nipple, so a holder is essential during wheel building and truing. This tool is a 60 mm long handle with a 1.0 mm wide, 12 mm deep slot at one end and a 1.3 mm slot at the other for wider blades like Sapim CX-Sprint, 8 mm thick so it is comfortable to hold for a whole wheel. Slot walls are 3 mm and it prints flat in PETG at 0.12 mm layers for crisp slots; a steel version is not needed for occasional use.
Spoke blade widths differ by brand and the shop tool is a single compromise. Type the exact blade thickness of your spokes into SpeakCAD, preview the holder free in the browser, add a third slot in the chat if you build with several types, then download the STL.
