Cold shoe mount adapter for camera
A cold shoe adapter lets you bolt a microphone, light or monitor onto a camera cage or tripod that only offers a 1/4 inch thread. The shoe channel is 18.6 mm wide with 1.5 mm rails and a 4.5 mm gap under them, a 20 mm long body 8 mm tall, and a 6.4 mm through hole for the 1/4-20 bolt with a 12 mm hex recess for a nylon lock nut. Printing it flat in PETG keeps the rails dimensionally stable and stiff enough for a 300 g shotgun mic.
With SpeakCAD you decide the body length, rail dimensions and hole position to suit your rig, and you can add a second shoe or an anti-rotation pin by describing it in the chat. Previewing is free in the browser; the STL costs credits only at download.
Design a cold shoe adapter 30 mm long, 22 mm wide and 8 mm tall with an 18.6 mm wide shoe channel, 1.5 mm rails with a 4.5 mm gap beneath, a 6.4 mm centred through hole, and a 12 mm hex recess 4 mm deep on the underside.
