The broken part is in one hand and the phone is in the other. That is where most custom parts start, and with SpeakCAD it is also where they can finish: the whole route from a measurement to a parcel runs in the phone's browser.

1. Measure, with the part in front of you

A calliper is best; a ruler read to the half millimetre is enough for most parts. Write down what the new part must fit: the shaft diameter, the gap it slides into, the distance between the two screw holes. Those numbers matter more than the overall shape.

2. Shape it on the phone

Open SpeakCAD in Safari or Chrome: nothing to install.

  • By hand, free: start from a box, a plate or a cylinder, tap a face to put a hole, a cut, a tab or text on it, and type its size and its distance from the edges. Round the corners with one more tap.
  • With the AI: type the part with your numbers ("a knob for a 6 mm D-shaft, 35 mm across, with a grip ridge") and watch it render. Each request spends 2 credits; the first change of a new model is on us.
  • From a photo: photograph the broken part next to a ruler and ask for a copy you can edit.

Turn it around with a finger, pinch to zoom, and read the dimensions in the panel.

3. Order the print from the same screen

Press Download, then "Print it for me". The part is priced from a real slice in under a minute. Pick PLA or PETG, a colour, how many, and the country, pay on the Stripe page (Apple Pay and Google Pay work there), and type the address. It arrives in about 2 to 3 weeks, with the import duties already paid.

Tips for a part designed on a phone

  • Add clearance. 0.3 to 0.5 mm on anything that slides on or in. A printed hole comes out slightly small.
  • Zoom on the joints. The places where the part meets the thing it fits are the ones to check twice.
  • Order one first. For a part you will need several of, order a single piece, check it, then order the rest as a batch.

Made to order, so it can't be returned; if we can't deliver it, or it arrives broken, the full price comes back as SpeakCAD credits.
