Qidi Q1 Pro vs Bambu Lab P1S: a heated chamber for less, or the AMS

The Qidi Q1 Pro has something the P1S lacks: an actively heated chamber to 60 °C, plus a hardened nozzle, a camera and a 5-inch touchscreen, for $449 at launch on a 245 x 245 x 240 mm bed. The P1S has the larger 256 mm bed, the AMS for multi-colour and Bambu's ecosystem, at $699 at launch, with a passive chamber. For ABS, ASA, PC and nylon parts the Q1 Pro is the better tool for less money; for colour and polish the P1S wins.
The short version

Who should buy which

Both printers are in SpeakCAD's slicer catalog with their official OrcaSlicer profiles, so this page has no printer to sell you. The numbers in the table come from those profiles; the prices are the makers' launch prices, and prices moved in 2025 and differ by region.
1

Buy the Q1 Pro if…

You want a real heated chamber for engineering filaments, a hardened nozzle, a Klipper web page that takes uploads from a phone, and a lower price. Colour can wait for the Qidi Box.
2

Buy the P1S if…

You want multi-colour, the Bambu apps and library, the larger bed, and you print ABS and ASA rather than nylon or polycarbonate.
3

Either way, the first custom part

Describe it with its measurements, check it on a virtual bed the size of the printer you chose, and download G-code for the Q1 Pro or a sliced .gcode.3mf for the P1S, sliced with its official profile. The first render usually appears within a minute or two: a new part gets deeper reasoning through the geometry, and small edits land in seconds.

The heated-chamber difference

A passive enclosure (P1S) traps the heat the bed makes; an active chamber heater (Q1 Pro) holds a set temperature, which is what keeps large ABS, ASA, PC and nylon parts flat and layer-bonded. In this price class the Q1 Pro is unusual for having one.

Where the Q1 Pro wins

  • Heated chamber to 60 °C.
  • Hardened nozzle as standard.
  • Price: $449 against $699 at launch.
  • Screen: a 5-inch touchscreen against a small non-touch display.
  • Network from a phone: the Fluidd web page takes a G-code upload from a phone browser.

Where the P1S wins

  • Bed: 256 x 256 x 250 mm against 245 x 245 x 240 mm.
  • Multi-colour: the AMS, up to 16 spools; Qidi's box came later as an add-on.
  • Ecosystem: Bambu Studio, Handy, MakerWorld and a very large community.
  • Auxiliary fan for PLA cooling in the box.

What both give up

PLA in a warm chamber wants the door open on both. The Q1 Pro's slicer (Qidi Studio, an OrcaSlicer fork) and community are smaller; the P1S cannot print nylon or PC with confidence.

Prices

Launch prices above; both changed in 2025 and vary by region.

Verdict

For engineering filaments the Q1 Pro is the better printer and the cheaper one. For PLA, PETG, ABS and multi-colour with the least friction, the P1S.

Sliced for either one

SpeakCAD ships the OrcaSlicer profiles of the Qidi Q1 Pro and the Bambu Lab P1S, like 380+ other printers. Describe a part in plain English on a phone or a computer, watch it render on a virtual bed of the size above, change it by chat, and download G-code for the Q1 Pro or a sliced .gcode.3mf for the P1S, with the print time and filament weight. The STL and 3MF are always there for your own slicer. The Qidi Q1 Pro and Bambu Lab P1S pages have prompts sized for each bed and the library parts made for them.

Questions

No. The P1S is enclosed and its chamber warms passively from the bed; it has no heater and no chamber control. The Q1 Pro heats its chamber to a set temperature up to 60 °C.

Not on its own. Qidi announced the Qidi Box add-on in 2025; check Qidi's site for compatibility. The P1S takes the AMS from day one.

The Q1 Pro: a heated chamber and a hardened nozzle are what nylon and carbon-fibre nylon need. On the P1S, small nylon parts are possible after a hardened-nozzle upgrade; large ones warp.

Yes, both, with the OrcaSlicer profile each maker ships: G-code for the Q1 Pro and a sliced .gcode.3mf for the P1S, or an STL or 3MF for your own slicer. The bed sizes in the table are the ones the viewer shows while you design.

Whichever you choose, the first part is a sentence away

Describe the part with its measurements, check it on the Q1 Pro's or the P1S's bed, and download it sliced.
