Marketplace questions
A catalogue of 3D printable models designed by SpeakCAD makers. Unlike a plain STL download site, every model is a live SpeakCAD design: after you get it, you can chat with the AI to change dimensions, add holes or adapt it to your own object, then download the STL or 3MF. It runs entirely in your browser, nothing to install.
Models are paid in credits, the same credits used for downloads (1 credit = $1 when bought in packs, cheaper in bulk). Click a model, choose Get it, and a copy appears in your models with a free STL and 3MF download. Free models cost nothing.
Yes. That is the point of the marketplace. Your copy opens in the normal SpeakCAD workspace: ask the AI to make it wider, add a screw hole or change the wall thickness. Small edits re-download free. Only a redesign that changes most of the part counts as a new download and costs the usual download credits.
Open any model you designed, click Publish, add a title and description, pick a category and set a price in credits. We recommend 3 credits. We review listings before they go live, usually within a day. You can change the price or take a listing down at any time from Marketplace → My listings.
The full price, in credits, every time the model sells. A 3-credit model that sells ten times earns 30 credits, that is 15 free downloads of your own designs. Credits earned this way never expire.
No. Models bought in the marketplace cannot be republished as-is. Design your own part, or make a genuinely different design from scratch, then publish that.
Only people who got a model can rate it, from 1 to 5 stars with an optional comment about their printer, material and fit. Ratings appear on the listing and help others pick models that print well.
The maker keeps ownership of their design. Buyers receive a licence to print the model for personal use and to adapt it for their own needs. Makers must only publish designs they created themselves.
