# The best 3D printers for printing from your phone (when the file is made on the phone too)

> Prusa and Klipper printers take G-code from a phone browser, Bambu Lab needs a microSD card or a computer, Anycubic and Flashforge use apps. All ranked.

## The short answer

If the file is going to be made on your phone, the most convenient printers are the ones with a web page on your home network that accepts a G-code upload from a phone browser: every current Prusa (PrusaLink, and Prusa Connect from anywhere), and the Klipper-based machines from Creality (Ender-3 V3 KE, K1C, K2 Plus), Elegoo (Neptune 4 Pro), Qidi (Q1 Pro), Sovol (SV08) and Voron. Bambu Lab printers are excellent machines with a phone gap: a file made on the phone reaches them by microSD card or through Bambu Studio on a computer, and the Handy app monitors and starts files already on the printer. Anycubic and Flashforge route through their apps and their slicers over Wi-Fi. The Ender-3 V3 SE takes an SD card and nothing else.

This matters more now that the G-code itself can be made on the phone: SpeakCAD slices on its servers with the printer's own profile and hands the phone a ready file, so the network path is the only step left. The [phone-to-slicer guide](/guides/phone-to-slicer) covers STL and 3MF; this article is about the last hop.

## Network paths, printer by printer

## Tier 1: a web page that takes the file

**Prusa.** Every current Prusa serves PrusaLink, a web page hosted by the printer itself. On the same Wi-Fi, open its address in Safari or Chrome, drop in the G-code from the Files app, press print. Prusa Connect does the same from outside the house. For: anyone who wants the phone to be the whole workflow, and an open ecosystem. You give up: the [MK4S](/printers/prusa-mk4s) (launched at $799 as a kit) and the MINI leave the camera to an add-on, so watching the print from the sofa needs one; the [CORE One](/printers/prusa-core-one) offers a camera as an option.

**Klipper-based machines.** The web front-ends (Mainsail, Fluidd, Creality's own variant) all have an upload button that works from a phone browser. The [Ender-3 V3 KE](/printers/creality-ender-3-v3-ke) (launched at $279) is the cheapest way to get this with a touchscreen and Wi-Fi; the [K1C](/printers/creality-k1c) (launched at $559) and the [Q1 Pro](/printers/qidi-q1-pro) (launched at $449) add an enclosure and a camera; the [SV08](/printers/sovol-sv08) and a [Voron](/printers/voron-2-4) add size and complete openness. The [Neptune 4 Pro](/printers/elegoo-neptune-4-pro) is the small exception: its Fluidd page sits on a wired network port, so the printer needs an Ethernet cable or a small Wi-Fi bridge before the phone can see it. You give up: vendor firmware on the Creality and Elegoo machines is Klipper-based rather than stock, so community plugins are hit and miss, and the SV08 is large and not quiet.

Prices moved in 2025 and vary by region, so check each maker's store.

## Tier 2: through the maker's app

Anycubic and Flashforge built their phone experience around their own cloud apps and desktop slicers. The apps are good at monitoring and at printing from the maker's own model library; whether a given version will accept a G-code you already have, from the phone's share sheet, changes between releases, so test it once. If it does not, the USB stick route below is a minute's work. For: people who like one app that does everything. You give up: a dependence on that app staying good.

## Tier 3: Bambu Lab, and the microSD card

Bambu Lab's ecosystem is the most polished on this list and its printers are among the best in their classes, which is why the phone gap deserves an honest paragraph. Bambu Handy monitors the printer, shows the camera and starts files that are already on the printer's storage. Getting a new file there from a phone means one of two things: copy the sliced .gcode.3mf onto the microSD card, or send it from Bambu Studio on a computer. If you own a computer that is on anyway, this is a non-issue; if the phone is the only device in the workflow, budget for a card reader and the twenty seconds it takes. For: nearly everyone who values print quality and multi-colour. You give up: the phone-only last hop, and an open ecosystem. The [Bambu Lab buying guide](/blog/which-bambu-lab-printer-should-you-buy) sorts the models.

## The microSD and USB fallback, done properly

A card reader for the phone makes every printer on this list phone-compatible, including the [Ender-3 V3 SE](/printers/creality-ender-3-v3-se) (launched at $199, SD card only, no Wi-Fi). On an iPhone with a USB-C port, a small USB-C card reader or a dual-connector USB stick mounts in the Files app; earlier iPhones need the Lightning version. On Android, a USB-C reader mounts in the Files app the same way. Copy the downloaded G-code to the card, eject, walk to the printer. It is less elegant than an upload button and entirely reliable. Two habits help: give files names you can read on a small printer screen, and keep the card in the reader rather than in the printer between prints.

## What else "printing from your phone" needs

- **A camera**, if you want to check on the print from another room. In the catalog: A1, A1 mini, P1S, X1 Carbon, H2D, K1C, K2 Plus, Q1 Pro, Kobra S1, Centauri Carbon and Adventurer 5M Pro include one; the KE and CORE One offer one as an option; the Neptune 4 Pro has none, and the MK4S and MINI leave it to an add-on.
- **A file made on the phone.** [SpeakCAD](/mobile) runs in Safari and Chrome, renders the part on a virtual bed the size of your printer's, and downloads G-code sliced with that printer's official profile, a .gcode.3mf for Bambu Lab. No computer in the loop.
- **Auto bed levelling**, so that a print started from the sofa does not need a hand on a knob. Every current printer in the table has it.

## Our picks

- **Phone-first, no compromise:** the [Prusa MK4S](/printers/prusa-mk4s) or [CORE One](/printers/prusa-core-one). PrusaLink and Connect, open hardware, and a camera option on the CORE One. See [MK4S vs CORE One](/printers/compare/prusa-mk4s-vs-prusa-core-one).
- **Phone-first on a budget:** the [Ender-3 V3 KE](/printers/creality-ender-3-v3-ke): Wi-Fi, a Klipper web page, an optional camera. The [SE vs KE comparison](/printers/compare/creality-ender-3-v3-se-vs-ender-3-v3-ke) is exactly this question.
- **Phone-first and enclosed:** the [Qidi Q1 Pro](/printers/qidi-q1-pro) or the [Creality K1C](/printers/creality-k1c).
- **Best printer, with a card reader:** the [Bambu Lab A1](/printers/bambu-lab-a1) or [P1S](/printers/bambu-lab-p1s), accepting the microSD hop.

## The file, made on the phone

Whichever printer you pick, it is one of the 380+ in [SpeakCAD's slicer catalog](/printers), so the first custom part is a description away: describe it with millimetres in the browser on a phone or a computer, check it on a virtual bed the size of that printer's, and download G-code sliced with the printer's official profile (a .gcode.3mf for Bambu Lab), or the STL or 3MF for your own slicer. The [live demo](/demo) is free and needs no account, with 3 AI edits of a real part; your own parts use credits, from $5 once with no subscription. The [first-week plan](/blog/first-week-with-a-new-3d-printer) runs the whole loop from a phone.

## Where that leaves you

If the phone is the workflow, buy a printer with a web page: Prusa or Klipper. If a computer is on the desk anyway, buy the printer you like and let the computer do the last hop. Whatever you buy, a card reader in the drawer means no file ever gets stuck on the phone.

## FAQ

### Can I 3D print directly from my phone without a computer?

Yes, on a printer that hosts a web page on your network. Prusa (PrusaLink and Prusa Connect) and Klipper-based machines from Creality, Elegoo, Qidi, Sovol and Voron accept a G-code upload from the phone's browser. Make the file on the phone, open the printer's page, upload, print.

### Which 3D printers accept G-code uploads from a phone browser?

Every current Prusa through PrusaLink, and Klipper-based printers through Mainsail or Fluidd: the Creality Ender-3 V3 KE, K1C and K2 Plus, the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro (over its wired port), the Qidi Q1 Pro, the Sovol SV08 and any Voron. The phone and printer need to be on the same network unless the maker offers a cloud service.

### Can Bambu Handy upload a file from my phone to the printer?

Handy monitors the printer and starts files that are already on it. A new file made on the phone gets there by copying the sliced .gcode.3mf onto the microSD card with a card reader, or by sending it from Bambu Studio on a computer.

### What if my printer only has an SD card slot?

Use a card reader on the phone. A USB-C reader mounts in the Files app on Android and on recent iPhones, older iPhones need the Lightning version. Copy the G-code across, eject, and print from the card. It is slower than an upload button and entirely reliable.
